The unit powers on and works, and is in very good condition for its age. Compared to most PN-3s floating around online, this one is honestly in better shape overall. 8/10 overall, rated high due to age, rarity, and functionality. Has a 1 inch cosmetic scratch on the face side of the housing.

Includes the original wire, but the male plug end is broken and would need repair to be usable. Battery cartridge had some rust from age; this was fixed in an amateur but effective way using aluminum foil and electrical tape to restore contact. It's not pretty, but it works and is reversible.

Optics and tube function as expected for an early-generation unit Quick History The PN-3 was a Soviet-era night vision device developed during the Cold War, back when night vision was bulky, experimental, and built like a tank. It uses early image-intensifier tech and was designed for military observation rather than comfort or refinement.

Most of these didn't survive long-term storage, which makes working examples like this increasingly uncommon today. Cold War or military collectors. Vintage optics / electronics enthusiasts.

Display, restoration, or historical collections I'm taking offers.
